Tell us a little about yourself.

Hi guys, I’m Sophie! I am a film production major with a communication minor entering my senior year at San Diego State University. My hometown is Renton, Washington and some of my interests include going to concerts, thrifting, traveling, working out, playing volleyball, camping, and relaxing at the beach. Regarding career goals, my dream is to work on films produced by major production companies like A24 or even direct my own!

What are you most excited to work on this summer?

I am most excited to create videos that will highlight organizations and promote underrated spaces. I love being able to share other people’s stories and can’t wait to visit and put together videos that will showcase some cool people and beautiful sites!

Why is spending time outdoors important to you personally?

Spending time outdoors is important to me personally because I love nature and I think that it’s crucial to take some time away from technology and being cooped up indoors. There is something for everyone in nature, and for me, I’m able to do a little bit of everything - camping, hiking, and playing beach or grass volleyball when I’m in an active mood, but also relaxing at the beach, sitting at a viewpoint, or having a chill picnic.

What do you hope to do after graduation?

Post-grad I hope to continue my passion for filmmaking by either interning for the Seattle Seahawks video production team or work for a production company and help them make movies.

What's your local recommendation for Seattle?

My Local Recommendation: Golden Gardens Park! This park has the softest, smoothest sand – perfect for playing some beach volleyball on a hot summer day.
