Meet Zephyrene
Zephyrene is a wayfinder who helps those living on planet Earth.
From a Galaxy Far Away
In Zephyrene’s galaxy, an acclaimed school teaches gifted students to guide species toward better ways of life. Ze got into the wayfinder program by demonstrating shapeshifting, eukaryotic* communication, and a love for nature. After graduating, Ze became an apprentice on Earth. Now Ze is the planet’s sole wayfinder.
* Eukaryotic refers to all multicellular organisms, including humans, animals, plants, and fungi.
Life on Earth
Each day is a new adventure for Zephyrene, who has come to care deeply for Earth and its diverse inhabitants. All species benefit from Ze’s guidance, especially humans.
Human activity can have major impacts on the planet, so Ze frequently shapeshifts into human form to help people learn how to take care of Earth. Ze’s favorite people to work with are kids. In human form, Zephyrene often goes by the name Zephy (first name) Rene (last name) to fit in better.
When traveling from place to place, Zephyrene always brings a satchel full of clever tools to help species preserve and protect Earth. Ze’s motto is “Love the land; show pride in your place.”
Adventure with Ze
Print, color, and cut out the image of Zephy Rene. As you explore different locations, bring Ze along and snap a photo. While you’re there, observe the surroundings and activities taking place at that location. Think about how that activity (human, animal, or weather-related) impacts Earth. What can you do to help preserve that location?
Let friends and family borrow Ze for their adventures, too. Ze is easy to mail to people living in other places or to pack in a suitcase. Have friends and family send you photos of Ze’s adventures. Ask them questions about the adventure: How would you describe the location, local weather, what’s special about the site? What are some interesting facts about the location? What did you do or see there?
Track and share the journey
Use a scrapbook or bulletin board to keep track of Ze’s adventures, and share your favorites with us by emailing the photo** to ze@urban-outings.com or tagging @TheGODeck on social media.
