Tell us a little about yourself.
I am currently an English student in my final year at the University of Texas at Arlington. Alongside my studies, I love to read and spend a lot of time creating short-form content. Because of that, I’m incredibly passionate about storytelling and believe it only takes one good story to change someone’s life. Throughout my career, I’d like to explore the impact of storytelling through digital media.
What drew you to The GO Deck?
I remember looking for an internship that would help me refine my marketing skills, specifically in social media. When I came across an opportunity with The GO Deck, I was immediately drawn to it. I felt that our mission and values aligned very well, and really wanted the chance to be part of the team.
What are you most excited to work on this summer?
So far, I’ve been most excited about the opportunities to connect and partner with organizations around the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. It’s been so fascinating to see all these beautiful places that I hadn’t even realized were so nearby.
Why is spending time outdoors important to you personally?
I’ve always turned to nature when life starts to get messy. I tend to take long walks through my neighborhood or nearby parks to help clear my head and lift my spirits. The time I spend outside centers me in a way that being inside doesn’t. I think being outdoors just shows me how much bigger the world is compared to my problems, and beyond that, it gives me a place to return to no matter the outcome of my worries.
What do you hope to do after graduation?
After graduation, I plan to continue pursuing a career in digital marketing. The publishing industry has always fascinated me, but right now, I’m keeping my options open!
What's Your Local Recommendation for the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex?
I think everyone who visits the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex needs to check out Cedar Hill State Park. Cedar Hill is a small town just south of Dallas and the whole area is absolutely beautiful!
