Behind The GO Deck is a group of people who are passionate about helping others discover nearby nature. In this series, we're introducing some of the people who have helped shape our small business journey.

Read on to learn about their favorite local places and, in the case of our interns, what their plans are post-graduation. Today's feature is Sakee Kromydas.

We worked with Sakee to develop a free interactive map of every spot in The GO Deck San Diego. He coded the whole thing, and we think it's incredible.

Now, getting outdoors is even easier. Open the map on your desktop or mobile device, tap a location pin, and navigate straight there.

Here's a quick demo with Sakee.

And now for the Q&A...tell us a little about yourself.

My name is Sakee Kromydas, and I just finished my sophomore year at La Costa Canyon High School. Some of my interests outside of school are golfing and programming. I like golf because it is both challenging and relaxing, and programming interests me because I enjoy problem-solving and building new things.

How do you typically spend time outdoors?

I usually spend the most time outdoors when I am golfing. I practice and play golf around five days a week, and I really enjoy the game because it’s challenging and very rewarding.

What's one thing you've learned while working with The GO Deck?

I’ve learned that even though I live in San Diego, there are so many places that I have never even heard of before that are included in The GO Deck San Diego. This reminded me how much there is still to explore in a place I have lived my whole life.

What do you hope to do after high school graduation?

After I graduate from high school, I hope to go to college where I can further pursue my passion for engineering and programming while expanding my skills in both areas. I hope that I will be able to use these skills to solve real-world problems.

What is a local spot you'd recommend?

In the San Diego deck, I would recommend Torrey Pines Extended Reserve (Card 28), because it has great views of the ocean.
